Parents Rights for Special Education (K-18):
Klamath County School District (KCSD) Special Services Department is responsible for providing specially designed instruction (special education) for our students identified with an educational disability, or handicapping condition. These services are provided across the district - geographically, Oregon's largest - with an emphasis on service in the local communities.
Within each KCSD community our department provides the full spectrum of special education services including evaluation, collaborative IEP development, educational services, transportation, and access to the general curriculum as best fits the needs of each student.
KCSD's Special Services Department includes a top-tier certified staff: speech pathologists, school psychologists, teacher evaluation specialists, an Autism specialist, a Behavior Intervention Specialist, occupational therapists, nurses, and resource room teachers (K-12). Together with our general education teachers, school administration, and parents, we build IEP teams that plan for student success. District contacts include the following:
